HISTORY OF THE SOCIETY
Founded in 1898, became inactive in the 1930s, reactivated in 1963. In the early 1970s the Society leased its present quarters from the Town. The Lewis House, built in 1826, is Walpole's only home on the National Register of Historic Sites.
