Quiet days in Our Town

It is just a short time before the annual town meeting convenes. But, compared to many other years, the mood and climate is very quiet.

Down the road, voters in Norwood, voting an override ballot question for the first time, defeated that question by a resounding 2-1 margin.

Here, this week, the school committee has voted their budget after making certain reductions that would fit into the financial picture proposed by the Town administrator.

It does appear that town officials are working hard to cooperate and collaborate on bringing to town meeting a consensus budget picture.

The town election also looms ahead for the first Saturday in June. Again, as candidates are circulating nomination papers and folks are in dialogue about who best to represent the needs of the town, it is a very quiet pre-election time.

It is also the high holy days for Christians as the celebration of Easter begins on April 11th.

Easter is a fifty-day season that culminates in the celebration of Pentecost on May 30th.
Meanwhile, Jews are celebrating the eight day Passover season.

We wish all in our community a solemn and healthy and happy Easter and Passover.
