The Week – Dec. 23

The Year – 2002

          The Holidays are here..

For retail stores, the holiday shopping season has about ended.

For families and friends who have shopped, the season of giving and has just begun.

For those who seek light in the darkness of winter and the cold of the night, for those who seek comfort in their mourning over the death of loved ones, this is a season of hope.

Churches will teem with faithful and family reunions at various services throughout the week. Ministers will seek ways to inspire and comfort and challenge the hearts and minds of the congregation.

The New Year begins next week with the traditional toasting of the old and the blessing of the future.

          Election

Remember that the town of Walpole will be holding a special election on February 8th to fill a vacancy on the Board of Selectmen.

The campaign should begin shortly.

All of the staff and volunteers here at WCT wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a safe time for travel and visiting.
