Summer Rhythm

Yes, the yellow school buses are off the road in the morning. School has closed and the students have put their books and notebooks and other ‘stuff’ away for the year.

And, parents have begun their task of ensuring that their children will use the summer off to positive advantage. What to do?

Well, the Walpole Public Schools has the traditional ‘Summer Reading Program’ that should be followed carefully by students and parents alike.

Reading is the key to educational achievement and reading is a lifelong endeavor. This suggests that all of us in the community should be active readers and models for students in this regard.

We urge students and parents to check in at the library for more detail and for the books to be read.

Music

Again, as the summer begins, the Walpole DBA and the Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the ‘Concerts on the Common’.

These wonderful evenings take place on the common area across from the Epiphany church. Every Tuesday, at 6:30 pm, live music will be the attraction for folks to come and relax on a summer evening.

Enjoy the change in the season, one and all.
