The Year – 2003

The Spectre of War

Local events continue on a daily basis. But, everyone is feeling the tension in the air with the spectre of war and the huge implications for people around the world.

Passion exists at all levels. Folks who support the decision to invade Iraq have spoken loudly and sincerely about their position.

Folks who believe this war is unnecessary and unwarranted have indicated their position in similar terms.

The world is seemingly in perilous times.

Yet, the local events and concerns about budgets and sports and traffic and parking woes continue to occupy our energy and time.

But, we all wonder what this new war will ultimately bring to our local scene.

The weather is improving and spring is finally on the horizon.

Let’s hope that the international crisis is resolved in a minimum of time and loss of life.
