Alan Rockwood – RIP

The town of Walpole is in mourning upon the news of the death of Alan Rockwood.

Alan succumbed to an aggressive form of cancer that took his life on Monday morning, September 15th.

For more than a year, Rockwood battled the cancer with treatments. His courage and hope and spirits were unflagging.

Rockwood was a dedicated family man with a sincere commitment to those whom he loved. He was also dedicated to the town, managing a local business and volunteering his energy and time and good will to various committees and to elected office.

Rockwood served on the Board of Selectmen with quiet distinction, and chaired the board on several occasions.

His death is a loss to us all.

We offer our prayers and our condolences to Alan’s family and to his friends.

He served the town well and Walpole is better for his service.
