Since when have we gotten so busy (or lazy), that a twenty minute drive is a chore??? May 12th 2001 06:13:00 PM
Remember, the demand on services can dip quite heavily into the additional tax revenue. Also, the loss of the tax revenue on the 50+ homes also needs to be considered. The final stab would be the business loss in the downtown and 1A areas. May 11th 2001 10:16:45 AM
PEOPLE WALPOLE IS GETTIN BETTER AND NEW PEOPLE NEED TO COME HEAR May 10th 2001 05:28:04 PM
WALPOLE NEEDS A NEW MALL IT WILL MAKE THIS TOWN MORE EXITING May 10th 2001 05:06:02 PM
My son lives in No. Attleboro just south of the N.A. Mall and most times we have to take short cuts to get to his home. the traffic is horrendous especially with all the traffic lights. We got the Stadium, Prison and Correctional Inst. May 9th 2001 03:09:03 PM
The tax revenue is not going to eliminate future overrides - research what has happened in Hanover, North Attleboro, and Braintree before you vote May 8th 2001 07:29:19 PM
yes May 7th 2001 07:29:49 PM
I hate malls.....period May 7th 2001 10:50:07 AM
The reason I moved to Walpole back in October was because the town itself maintained the classic New England feel. Families out and about, walking the dog and in the streets. The traffic on my street, Union Street moves far too fast (although the s May 7th 2001 10:45:10 AM
I don't have enough info tod ecide. The mall is already quity seedy. May 5th 2001 08:31:33 PM
Yes it would create more traffic to the area but the mall does not need to expand to a mega mall. There must be a more logical way to expand. May 5th 2001 06:37:49 PM
If I wanted to live in Braintree, I'd move there. We love our bedroom community! Why isn't driving 20 minutes to reach one of two large malls an option?!? I have yet to see the hard numbers on revenue!! May 4th 2001 06:33:20 PM
Yes, many of the capes on Rustic are valued around 180,000 they would sell around 220,000. A cape near Bird is selling for 290,000, I agree you would see these people have to move out of town. What about the values of surrounding homes? May 4th 2001 05:29:28 PM
They are offering 20% over Market Value, with the houses there lowcst due to the mall they wont be able to buy another house in walpole, They will be forced out of town. May 4th 2001 05:26:38 PM
Re: Person who wants to sell the help the town Apr 30, WHY DON'T YOU GIVE YOUR HOUSE TO THE TOWN AND MOVE OUT May 4th 2001 05:25:26 PM
If people are only concerned with tax revenue, why don't we build a shopping center on Adams Farm that way people will have more tax revenue! May 4th 2001 05:22:24 PM
Why do we need the tax revenue? Are we mismanaging something? (Could it be the health insurance plan?) May 4th 2001 01:25:47 PM
What will happen when fifty homeowners come onto the market at once, trying to purchase houses for $250,000? They won't find houses in Walpole! May 4th 2001 11:53:08 AM
To the comment from April 30th re: you'd like somebody to buy you out? Do you think you'd stay in Walpole? I don May 3rd 2001 09:10:39 PM
I'd like to see the numbers - what will the tax liability be for the new mega-mall? May 3rd 2001 09:06:56 PM
Increase in tax revenue? Excuse me....but I haven't heard a word about who will be paying the police and other service units that will have to increase their coverage for this area. We're under staffed as it is....covering just Walpole!!!! May 3rd 2001 10:13:42 AM
This is completely crazy - there are family neighborhoods immediately in the area that are currently not being considered as "buy-outs" from the developers. What is to happen to THEIR property values. May 3rd 2001 10:10:38 AM
No, but I want a power plant. (Clean, quiet, dependable, VALUEABLE. It might even attract some industry. May 2nd 2001 07:40:07 AM
I'm sure 77% don't live near it! May 1st 2001 04:18:05 PM
It makes more sense to consider industry - - that's where real value is created. How about a power plant to be located along a natural gas pipeline? It could feed the high-tension grid that runs through the town. May 1st 2001 06:12:48 AM
Don't forget that the houses that are going to be torn down are also providing tax revenue. In tough times, the homeowners don't come to us en masse for tax reductions. May 1st 2001 06:11:06 AM
In our age of conspicuous comsumption, I guess we need more places to buy more things. Is that how we insure our quality of life? Shopping? May 1st 2001 06:09:24 AM
It will be great getting the taxes, but what guarantee is there of permanent success? The mall was almost bankrupt in the early 1990's. South Shore is close enough. May 1st 2001 06:08:14 AM
We have been losing so much business and industry in our town. this would be a start to increasing our tax revenue. If I were one of the folks in that area, I would love to have someone buy me out, etc. We should go for it! Apr 30th 2001 09:08:49 AM
