| Since
when have we gotten so busy (or lazy), that a twenty minute drive is
a chore??? |

| Remember,
the demand on services can dip quite heavily into the additional tax
revenue. Also, the loss of the tax revenue on the 50+ homes also
needs to be considered. The final stab would be the business loss in
the downtown and 1A areas. |

son lives in No. Attleboro just south of the N.A. Mall and most
times we have to take short cuts to get to his home. the traffic is
horrendous especially with all the traffic lights. We got the

what has happened in Hanover, North Attleboro, and Braintree before

| The
reason I moved to Walpole back in October was because the town
itself maintained the classic New England feel. Families out and
about, walking the dog and in the streets. The traffic on my street,
Union Street moves far too fast (although the s |

May

| Yes
it would create more traffic to the area but the mall does not need
to expand to a mega mall. There must be a more logical way to
expand. |

| If
I wanted to live in Braintree, I'd move there. We love our bedroom
community! Why isn't driving 20 minutes to reach one of two large
malls an option?!? I have yet to see the hard numbers on revenue!! |
May

| Yes,
many of the capes on Rustic are valued around 180,000 they would
sell around 220,000. A cape near Bird is selling for 290,000, I
agree you would see these people have to move out of town. What
about the values of surrounding homes? |
May
4th 2001 05:29:28 PM |
| They
are offering 20% over Market Value, with the houses there lowcst due
to the mall they wont be able to buy another house in walpole, They
will be forced out of town. |

people are only concerned with tax revenue, why don't we build a
shopping center on Adams Farm that way people will have more tax
revenue! |

do we need the tax revenue? Are we mismanaging something? (Could it

| Increase
in tax revenue? Excuse me....but I haven't heard a word about who
will be paying the police and other service units that will have to
increase their coverage for this area. We're under staffed as it
is....covering just Walpole!!!! |
May

| This
is completely crazy - there are family neighborhoods immediately in
the area that are currently not being considered as
"buy-outs" from the developers. What is to happen to THEIR
property values. |

but I want a power plant. (Clean, quiet, dependable, VALUEABLE. It
might even attract some industry. |

| It
makes more sense to consider industry - - that's where real value is
created. How about a power plant to be located along a natural gas
pipeline? It could feed the high-tension grid that runs through the
town. |

| Don't
forget that the houses that are going to be torn down are also
providing tax revenue. In tough times, the homeowners don't come to
us en masse for tax reductions. |

| In
our age of conspicuous comsumption, I guess we need more places to
buy more things. Is that how we insure our quality of life?
Shopping? |

| It
will be great getting the taxes, but what guarantee is there of
permanent success? The mall was almost bankrupt in the early 1990's.
South Shore is close enough. |

| We
have been losing so much business and industry in our town. this
would be a start to increasing our tax revenue. If I were one of the
folks in that area, I would love to have someone buy me out, etc. We
should go for it! |
